Roche de Bellene Bourgogne Blanc 2015

Nothing bad comes from Burgundy, and while it's not my favorite region for white wine, the Roche De Bellene Blanc 2015 is the standout wine of the year for me. Lemon and red apple on the nose; chalky, with some flint on the palate. Well balanced, with less oak that one might be used to for a white Burgundy. At less than $30, it's easily the best value white I've come across in my ten years in wine retail. Has it been a decade already? ADAM, PWSE

Nicolas Potel is, in my opinion, one of the great young talents in Burgundy today. What is perhaps most remarkable is that he manages to produce a bevy of brilliant wines, that are sadly only ever available in tiny quantities, from his Domaine label while also releasing wines, in larger volumes, from his Negociant business which are always excellent and great value. He makes it very clear whenever you speak with him that he treats these wines with the same care and consideration as his Domaine bottlings. This incarnation of his always hugely popular Bourgogne Blanc hales from the great 2015 vintage and shows all the ripe, weighty and rich characters of the year while retaining its trade mark freshness. It is not a wine to contemplate but rather one to drink on a warm night in the coming months. PWS
